About Me

I can be classified as a serious health nut. I eat huge amounts of raw and/or green veggies each day. Walk 8 to 13 miles each day over hilly landscape. Since I began keeping a record: Aug 20th,2K8, I have logged well over 1,000 plus miles during this time of walking, climbing or hiking.

Today's the 2 August, 2005.
After a grueling week of work and watching the installation of a new water heater for the Silver Turtle, work begins on installing the new Carrier V a/c. This was suppose to be a improvement over the old a/c that, as my luck would have it, turned out less than what I had expected.
To sum it up in a nutshell.
The interior of my Airstream's cabinet around the frig actually blocked the ceiling control unit for the new A/C. Gawd, if I had only known then what I know now.
When the tech came to me and said that they were having some problems getting it to line up, my thinking was with the placement of the unit on the roof, as it was mentioned about having to move the unit slightly due to the tightness of space. Well, it turned out, in order for it to fit; they installed the ceiling control unit in 180 degrees out. This didn't seem to be a problem at first until I fired it up for a test run.
All of the cold air was directed toward the rear. Hmm, I wondered why this was so. The tech said it had to do with the heater box for the heat pump blocking the flow of air toward the front.
I ended up asking them to see if it couldn't be done correctly as the factory said it should be mounted only one way. Well, it was then that the problem really became clear to me and, yes it can only be installed one way unless I was willing to cut into the cabinet around the frig. I said, no way, at least at this time I wasn't ready for that to happen.
I elected to have the heat pump removed until later. This was done to restore the proper flow of the A/C's cold air.
At some point, I'll have to rethink just how this could be properly done. Cutting into the cabinet just seems, to me at least, a butcher way of doing it.
Towed the unit out to the campground here at the military base for the time being. Since it's only 5$ per day to park it here, it allows me the chance to use it and get it off the dealership property. (More about that later)
Things at the dealership seem to be undergoing massive changes. EMPLOYEES are not happy with the way monies are being charged back to them for expense that, in some sense, seems that they ought to be a company's business cost for doing business, not something coming out of the sales person's monies. Things like PDI, etc.
Basically, this means that as a salesperson, for every unit you sell, it goes into the shop to be prep’s for delivery. Meaning it's cleaned, the entire function of all appliances are variously checked out before the customer picks his new All of that charge for the work done in the shop is charged back to the commission that would normally go to the salesman. I hope you can begin to understand what I'm talking about.
Oct 31st, 2005:Today's comment comes just on the heel of my 63rd birthday~Which is Nov 1st and, the weather is a perfect 64 degrees. Nathan is home from his job teaching in Conn. He really looks great with his dark full beard. Lost weight as well, which..I'm so very thankful.
The news is that RVsofNH has folded and, in its place is a company called Autotorium. The new owner's name is Greg and, seems to have more interest and heart for the business than the previous.
We've been told that they will continue to carry just Airstream trailers on one side and, auto on the other side of the lot.
So far, there's just a total of four in sales. BTW, My former manager John, did leave around the first of OCT. Went to a dealership in Danbury, CT. I do believe he will do great work there as he seems to have their support in building a totally new location for the service and sales of Airstream.
Jan 1st, 2k6..
As posted in previous notes about the RV dealership, numerous changes have taken place.
JohnD,who left for CT., is now out of work. It seems that the new RV center will not be built after all.
On the heel of that news, I learned that Autotorium will not be allowed to carry on with the Airstream dealership. It has been passed on to a RV dealer in Maine. For reasons best left a ??, I'll not comment on the reasons why but..I give them my notice at the dealership, and left just before Christmas.
I did end up with the "Factory Authorize Service Center" sign from Airstream..lol
I took off for vacation to Va Beach, Va., for 10 days. It's great to be reunited with my Airstream, Silver Turtle, once again.
Todays been nice (57*) and sunny all day long. It's now 4:48 pm and, the sun is getting long below the trees. Watching a movie called: Simple Life-Road trip # 2".
Alot of pure silliness but..perfect for this afternoon.
Today's date: 24th Jan 2k6..
We had 6 to 8 inches of new snow yesterday and, woke up to a bright sunny morning here. It was 14 degrees out..Brrr, gawd I hate the cold. Over the last few days, I watched a movie called "The Grizzly Man" which was filmed by the late Tim Treadwill. It was touching, yet at the time time, it showed the reckless concern for safety around those wild bears. I think the real shame was the young lady's who lost her life by following him. Her death was totally waste of a human's life.
