I can be classified as a serious health nut. I eat huge amounts of raw and/or green veggies each day. Walk 8 to 13 miles each day over hilly landscape. Since I began keeping a record: Aug 20th,2K8, I have logged well over 1,000 plus miles during this time of walking, climbing or hiking.

Tis time~

To allow for the proper understanding of the title, "SilverTurtle".
Some years back after I sold my first Airstream, which was a 53 FlyingCloud, I began to search on the internet for a replacement. Do you have any idea just how hard this was in the early days of the internet? Gawd, information alone on the Airstream trailer was scarce, let alone the selection. As luck would have it, the previous owner of the SilverTurtle, had but just posted his listing on a Airstream group that I had visited. Upon reading his listing, I called for verification of his information and, to request some recent pictures. Upon the arrival of the pictures via e-mail and, future telephone conversations..I was convinced that this Airstream was the one for me. We made a verbal agreement of purchase with Bob Smith and, I wired him 'Ernest monies' as proof of my intent.
Now the real search began, as I did not have any vehicle suitable for the job of towing a 29 ft Airstream..Within 48 hrs, I found a used but like new 1995 Suburban 3/4 ton vehicle powered by diesel engine. This vehicle was already setup for HD towing plus, it was just fantastic to look at.
After a few initial set-backs, we were finally off on the long arduous trip to ElPaso, Texas, the home of the SilverTurtle.
We departed from New Hampshire, early Sunday morning, and drove non-stop until I arrived at my destination late in the afternoon on Tuesday.
Bob and is wife Karin were both very nice folks and, asked if I had eaten yet. I said no but, that I was open to suggestions as to where to eat, being that I was new in the area. Karin suggested that we go to an Mexican restaurant, if I had no problem with "spicy" food...lol
The meal was exceptionally good and very hot~ It also was very quickly served, as we had arrived just before closing time.. Afterwards, we returned to their home where they both insisted that I spend the nite.. I was so tired from the long journey, I quickly into a deep, sound sleep.
DAY 2:
Dawn awaken me to the sounds of Karin in the kitchen cooking bacon, eggs, toast, and setting the plates for breakfast out on the sunroom. What a cook~ (More on that later)
Afterwards, Bob and I both went outside to hook up the Airstream to the Burb for towing to the tire dealer for new tires and, to have the bearings repacked. But, first stop was to have a new brake controller installed.
Upon our arrival at the tire dealership, I had slight problem backing into the work area. The manager there was trying to be helpful and, finally asked if I'd like for him to back it in..I quickly agree, somewhat red-faced. He drove out of the lot with my rig in tow.. After he was gone for nearly 15 minute, I asked my new friend Bob, just how close were we to the border..He was laughing so hard, when he replied, "Less than 5 minutes drive". At which time, my thoughts were:
1. My new rig was gone, never to be seen again..
2. We should be contacting the police. (I must admit, I never figured it to do much good.)
Then, I heard the sound of diesel coming around the corner॥lol, what a couple of trickters I soon found to be had for friends..We all laught at my expense।
