This Airstream was visited at Salisbury Beach Rally in May, 2K5. What impressed me about the unit was the quality of the interior's woodworking makeover. The fitting of the joints and, the level of pride in the workmanship spoke volumes about both the owner and, naturally, the end results. My shame was in not going back later to gather interior shots to share. If you happen to run into Mark at any future rallys, be sure you ask to see the interior of his unique Airstream. 

This shot taken as the Whale circuled the boat, shows just how close he was to the surface. He could just raise his head above the surface to get a breath of fresh air. As his condition was deteriorating from lack of food, a call was quickly put in for help. None of the radio nor cell phones worked as we were 20 to 25 miles off shore. I got out my Verizon cell fone and discovered I had coverage. Dialing the 800 number for the whale watch group, we were able to save this Humpback Whale from slow death. The picture diagram shows just how he was trapped and, what was cut to free him. He was an unknown Humpback, yet named.  

Salisbury Beach, MA. During the Airstream rally, I went out on a whale watch cruise with the group from the NE Unit of WBCCI. We came upon a Humpback Whale entagled in a fisherman's gear. The Whale was almost completely exhausted and in extreme danger.
